New ‘Law & Order’ Will Offer ‘Trial by Jury’<\/a><\/p>\nPaired with some really bad writing, it takes some effort to get to the meat of the stories on this site.<\/p>\n

However much Lennie is the rock of the Two-Seven, I can’t suspend my belief too much longer. He’s way past retirement age, and I would have thought the brass would have ousted him long ago.<\/p>\n
As for the new series — I had my doubts about Crime and Punishment<\/i> when it was announced, but it’s probably the best series in the Law and Order<\/i> franchise. So we’ll see.<\/p>\n
The prospect of Lennie leaving the L&O: TOS<\/i> universe — note I’m not talking about Jerry Orbach, the actor, but Lennie Briscoe, the character — makes me wonder what would happen if Jack McCoy were to leave the DA’s office. An evil part of me wishes Ed Danvers (Homicide: Life on the Streets<\/i>) moves up from Baltimore to take Jack’s place. Whee!<\/p>\n
If L&O: TOS<\/i> really<\/i> wanted to shake things up, they’d shake up the man\/woman pairings among the cops and DA’s — give McCoy a male second chair and Green (if Briscoe does leave) a female partner.<\/p>\n
