I don&#8217;t make it a tradition to fill it out every year, and I don&#8217;t intend to start now. I&#8217;m just putting up filler while I go on my forced vacation.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>What did you do in 2006 that you&#8217;d never done before?<\/strong>\n<p>Record my own singing and develop my own Firefox plugin. The latter was less disasterous than the former. Oh, and I bought a violin.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Did you keep your new year&#8217;s resolutions, and will you make more for next year?<\/strong>\n<p>My <a href=\"\/meisakuki\/entry\/2959\/\">2007 resolution<\/a>. It&#8217;s already sidelined by a <a href=\"\/sakufu\/entry\/2971\/\">pinched nerve<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Did anyone close to you give birth?<\/strong>\n<p>Yes.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Did anyone close to you die?<\/strong>\n<p>No.<\/li>\n<li><strong>What countries did you visit?.<\/strong>\n<p>None. Still too damn poor for my Tokyo trip.<\/li>\n<li><strong>What would you like to have in 2007 that you lacked in 2006?<\/strong>\n<p>Sex.<\/li>\n<li><strong>What dates from 2006 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?<\/strong>\n<p>July 14. The first time I&#8217;ve ever had surgery outside of Honolulu.<\/li>\n<li><strong>What was your biggest achievement of the year?<\/strong>\n<p>Probably going back through songs I wrote 20 years ago and, if I do say so myself, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eponymous4.com\/projects\/a_ghost_in_my_shadow\/\">improving<\/a> them. My <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eponymous4.com\/projects\/nasopialmo_2006\/\">NaSoAlMo album<\/a> might qualify.<\/li>\n<li><strong>What was your biggest failure?<\/strong>\n<p>The love life, but that&#8217;s pretty much every year.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Did you suffer illness or injury?<\/strong>\n<p>The gall bladder it was removed.<\/li>\n<li><strong>What was the best thing you bought?<\/strong>\n<p>TiVo!<\/li>\n<li><strong>Whose behavior merited celebration?<\/strong>\n<p>Mine.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?<\/strong>\n<p>The American voting public, for waiting six years to grow a set of balls.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Where did most of your money go?<\/strong>\n<p>I don&#8217;t recall receiving any money.<\/li>\n<li><strong>What did you get really, really, really excited about?<\/strong>\n<p>Oddly enough, my surgery. I had been wanting a long break from work for a while, and when I learned I had to go under the knife, I rejoiced over the prospect of burning a lot of sick time and getting the vacation I&#8217;ve been needing. Thankfully, the recovery process itself wasn&#8217;t too burdensome as to interfere with the hours of television watching that resulted.<\/li>\n<li><strong>What song will always remind you of 2006?<\/strong>\n<p>Anything off of Utada Hikaru&#8217;s <em>Ultra Blue<\/em>, Sloth Love Chunks&#8217; <em>Shikakui Vision<\/em> or Dylan Rice&#8217;s <em>Wandering Eyes<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Compared to this time last year, are you:\n<p>a. happier or sadder<\/p>\n<p>b. thinner or fatter<\/p>\n<p>c. richer or poorer?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Probably fatter. I don&#8217;t like checking.<\/li>\n<li><strong>What do you wish you&#8217;d done more of?<\/strong>\n<p>Sex.<\/li>\n<li><strong>What do you wish you&#8217;d done less of?<\/strong>\n<p>Being lazy about getting laid.<\/li>\n<li><strong>How will you be spending\/did you spend Christmas?<\/strong>\n<p>I had dinner over at Double-A&#8217;s house, and before the pinched nerve sidelined me, I did a bit of recording for my Japanese rock cover album.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Did you fall in love in 2006?<\/strong>\n<p>You have to be human to do that.<\/li>\n<li><strong>How many one-night stands?<\/strong>\n<p>Zero.<\/li>\n<li><strong>What was your favorite TV program?<\/strong>\n<p><em>The Closer<\/em>, hands down. I was also enamoured of <em>Psych<\/em>, <em>Eureka<\/em>, <em>Ugly Betty<\/em> and <em>Friday Night Lights<\/em>. I still have the <em>Battlestar Galactica<\/em> love, and I&#8217;ve recently added <em>Veronica Mars<\/em> to the Season Pass manager.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Do you hate anyone now that you didn&#8217;t hate this time last year?<\/strong>\n<p>My neighbors, downstairs and next to me. I hate them so much, I&#8217;m willing to drop N-bombs and C-bombs to describe them. Trash, all of them.<\/li>\n<li><strong>What was the best book you read?<\/strong>\n<p>I&#8217;m in the middle of Rob Thurman&#8217;s <em>Nightlife<\/em>, which Double-A lent to me. She said after reading a few pages, she thought I might like it. Then half-way through the book, she was convinced I wrote it. I read the first few pages and experienced an odd deja vu &#8212; yeah, that was my writing, but I didn&#8217;t write it. I have a writing twin out there somewhere.<\/li>\n<li><strong>What was your greatest musical discovery?<\/strong>\n<p>Dylan Rice. Great voice + great songs + hot = My groupie fantasy.<\/li>\n<li><strong>What did you want and get?<\/strong>\n<p>TiVo!
