Tonight, I had no gimmick, so I went with the old standby &#8212; write the first line and see what happens after. I ended up with something obviously in 3\/4.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><br \/>\n\u4f4f\u3093\u3067\u3044\u306a\u3044<br \/>\nJune 12, 2007<br \/>\nThe book on the nightstand hasn&#8217;t been opened in days<br \/>\nThe cover and pages gather a light film of dust<br \/>\nA clock in the corner notes when the hour has gone<br \/>\nWith no one to hear it, time passes by silently<br \/>\nWhen was the last time this room had some life?<br \/>\nIt wouldn&#8217;t know, now would it?<br \/>\nMaybe the last time this room had some life<br \/>\nThere was a reason for being<br \/>\nA series of pictures covers the length of a hall<br \/>\nWhere memories faded into the cracks in the walls<br \/>\nThe floorboards and ceilings creak with the passing of age<br \/>\nWith no one to see it, time passes by unremarked<br \/>\nWhen was the last time this room possessed life?<br \/>\nIt wouldn&#8217;t know, now would it?<br \/>\nMaybe the last time this room had some life<br \/>\nThere was a reason for living<br \/>\nThere was a time filled with meaning<br \/>\nThere was a moment worth living<br \/>\nThere was a life there worth knowing<br \/>\nThere was an ending worth grieving<br \/>\nThe book on the nightstand hasn&#8217;t been opened in days<br \/>\nThe clock in the corner marks when the hour has gone<br \/>\nThe floorboards and ceilings creak with the passing of age<br \/>\nWith no one to feel it, time passes by endlessly<br \/>\nWhen was the last time this room has some life?<br \/>\nI should have known, now should I?<br \/>\nMaybe the last time this room had some life<br \/>\nThere was a reason for being<br \/>\nThere was a reason for living<br \/>\nThere was a reason for leaving<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I usually have some sort of gimmick when I start writing a lyric.
